"I think, therefore I am."

So, since I haven’t been (and won’t be) doing SOTD for a while, I’m making this the…

SONG OF THE SUMMER.

All that needs to be said is,

I left a lot of blood in California on my first trip out West…

Last night was much needed. I may be covered in mosquito bites. I may smell like a bottle of bug spray, dirt, and other various outdoorsy scents. I may have slept in a tent full of bugs for a lousy two hours. I may have been woken up by bottle rockets going off at 630 in the morning. Regardless of all of these things, last night was so good.

The Underclassmen Song.

The following song was presented to a group of underclassmen around a camp fire. Thanks to Katie, a video link will be posted shortly.

Sit down, all of you,

and listen to this song.

You’re 15, all of you,

and I can see your thong.

What the hell is wrong with you,

you dirty little whores?

Thinking you’re so cool

shoppin’ in Hollister stores.

You walk around, so cool,

living your life

trying to impress people

whom won’t get a decent wife.

Stupid douchebags.

You’re all douchebags.

Underclassmen are douchebags.

Go home.

Thank you. :)

Song of the Day.

Wavin’ Flag - K’naan

Today I did not listen to anything besides reggae and ska, and it was amazing. Why so, you ask? Because reggae gives me the feeling that it’s Summer. And it is! With the exception of nearly 3 hours tomorrow morning. This song is also the FIFA ‘10 theme song, I do believe, and since that starts tomorrow, I find it fitting. K’naan is the fxcking man.

Song of the Day.

Chicago is Cliche (Bonus Track) - Fireworks.

I just CANNOT seem to get enough Fireworks today. From “When We Stand on Each Other We Block Out The Sun” to “From Mountain Movers, to Lazy Losers”, this Detroit based band has been stuck in my head all friggin’ day, AND IT WON’T STOP! So, why not indulge in what’s already there? Plus, the entire “We Are Everywhere” EP is a wonderful piece of art, and this particular song is a great conclusion to the album. Enjoy.

Song of the Day.

Jacksonville - Sufjan Stevens

I just discovered this guy today, and I love his music so much. As for this song, the up-beat, and yet at the same time chill, feeling to it just…pleases me.

Dunning–Kruger Effect.

My theory; Justin Kruger and David Dunning though back to their days in high school and developed their theory based on all the douche bags that dwell there. Read the article, ignorant fools.

Well, SYG is on this label, and they haven’t sold out yet. This might just be a magical, magical move. OH! And, TWYs are playing in San Fran while I’m going to be there! Super score.

Song of the Day.

Ground Pencils, Dead Stencils - Bike Tuff

You can’t fear death forever, because the fear of death will only hold you back. Face it kiddo, we’re all going to die sometime. Might as well live it up while you’re living…might as well live while you’re alive. Best line of this song; “Get off your knees and put the past behind you.  The future’s there if you don’t let death define your actions.  I’d rather have the ashes of these letters than your own.”
